EXCITING NEWS FOR 1ST BIRTHDAY EVENT..... SUNDAY 5th SEPTEMBER ................
Mary Berry is coming to the Winslow Farmers Market on Sunday (5th Sept) to help us celebrate the market’s 1st birthday. Legendary Aga expert and author of over 40 cookery books, Mary opened the first Winslow Farmers Market for us last year. She will be bringing a copy of her latest book ‘Cook up a Feast’ to raffle and will also be selling signed copies of this book at the Winslow Farmers Market information stall. Mary is currently starring in the BBC2 series ‘The Great British Bake Off’ (Tuesday’s 8pm) so we are thrilled she is able to come along and see how the market is doing.
Visitors to next Sunday’s market can also look forward to live music from John Ginn and colleagues, who played to great acclaim at our first farmers market. With over 25 stalls selling produce grown, reared or made within 30 miles of Winslow and all the local shops and cafes open, it promises to be a great day out!
Winslow Farmers Market is going from strength to strength and growing in the variety of products on sale, recent additions are soft fruit, bread and apple juice, as well as goats cheeses and wine.
The Market is a joint venture between the Chamber of Trade and the Town Council and is run on an entirely voluntary basis on FARMA guidelines (assuring customers that they are supporting truly local farmers and businesses).
Each month there is a Community Stall where a local organisation can promote their activities or raise funds - this stall is provided free of charge.
Most months there is also entertainment, which adds to the ambience of the Market.
As well as the Farmers Market, many shops, as well as the local cafes, open for business making the first Sunday of each month a date not to be missed.
NEXT MARKET Sunday 5th September - 10am to 2pm, on the Market Square, Winslow, MK18 3AB.
